Our clients desired a more updated home and additional living space for their growing young family. They loved Upper Arlington and really wanted to improve vs. move.The dated home was tight and though there was an addition it was poorly planned. The home had inadequate natural lighting and felt pretty boxy. Through our design process, we showed them some plans for a 2 story addition with an option of a basement under the addition.

The 1st floor of the addition now houses a state of the art kitchen with beautiful Amish built cabinetry, custom appliances, granite countertops, functional island, and wine bar and built in pantry. For the adjoining Great room we planned large windows and a beautiful entertainment area. The openness of this space combined with the remodeled old parts of the home work well with their new office, mudroom and dining room.

The 2-story addition was constructed to pamper the owners. The Mrs. chose to have a huge master suite with a custom cathedral ceiling, elegant bathroom and a custom 2 person shower. The Mr. chooses to have a tumbled paver patio with a built in fire pit/grille/refrigerator and trellis to enjoy off the new great room/kitchen.

We designed part of an original 2nd floor bedroom to be converted to an upscale laundry center that any family would die for. (Families love laundry rooms where the laundry originates, by the bedrooms) The 2 existing bathrooms were reconfigured and totally redone to meet the needs of this wonderful family. We did add a new basement under the addition for additional storage needs or a future media room.
